There are few things I love more than to spend a day with family.

This weekend, to celebrate my father in law’s 60th birthday, the whole family went to Cirque du Soleil. It was my second show at the National Harbor, in MD. Last time I went with B, at least 5 years ago or so, during winter.

They manage to come up with something new all the time. This show is called Amaluna. It’s gorgeous. Set in a fantasy island where they worship the moon, the show depicts the struggles of two lovers. It’s beautiful.

One of the best things about going with my family is to see my nieces. They have me wrapped around their fingers. We asked them to sit down with us and I really wanted to see their reactions. They were so sweet clinging to their seats and asking all questions. I do hope they loved it as much as we did.

Right at the end of the show something happened. The lights went back on, the music stopped, the a/c died.

They cut the show short, what I would assume another 15 minutes or so. There were performers ready to come down from the ceiling and they all dressed in black and went their way. It was a pity, but sometimes being safe is better than to have the performance. The public all loved it either way.

After that we all went to dinner together at the Public House Restaurant. They had great food for a decent price, which is sometimes hard right by the harbor.
