I will be honest and say that my makeup routine is as basic as it gets. I wash, cleanse, moisturize, protect and add a couple coats of mascara, do my brows and add a blush. Pronto.
Being fancy is adding a cat eye. True story. Now, if I’m going to a party, or a fancy event, I take more time, adding eyeshadow, foundation, highlighter and all that fun stuff.
But there are 3 products that I consider my “beauty” favorites.
I know, I know. Calling it a beauty product may be pushing it a little, but honestly it’s that and much more to me. I’ve been blessed with a mom that was neurotic about slabbing SPF on us since we were babies. I was pretty good about it myself, besides maybe a handful of times where I got sunburnt. And you know what? At my young age of 22 I developed skin cancer. Basil cell, thank goodness. Nothing that couldn’t be snipped away. And then one more. And this one that looks like it too. I can add up to at least 4 little scars to my collection because of it.
Well, my dears. This is one of the reasons why this is way up there on the list for me. It not only helps on the long run – better than any makeup you may apply – but it also keeps your skin healthy, looking younger and fresher.
I naturally have a flush, and my whole childhood I’ve been called tomato, because whenever I exercise my face gets red and warm. And it takes hours for it to go back to normal. PE was fun, I tell you. But even then, I cannot leave the house without applying my blush. On very basic days it’s the only thing I add, to make me look healthy and awake. I am particularly fond of this shade by Jane Iredale, called In Love. It’s perfect for Fall.
I’m particularly focused on updating my makeup to a cleaner formula, and Jane is by far the best out there as far as I’m concerned. It works beautifully on my sensitive skin and it’s pure product, none of those chemicals added.
I’m pretty sure most of us would point this one out. There’s no better way to look awake, put together, and ready for the day to come. It instantly changes my mood, too. If I’m feeling sluggish and not really put together, i reach for my mascara. Of course I love the drama, but as I said I’m becoming pretty particular about what I put on my body. So this one adds such natural looking length and thickness without any of those Shellac, petroleum products. It took me a few tries to get the application down, but now I can’t live without it.
There you go! Those three key products for my beauty routine. I’m really looking forward to know which made into your list too!
